Hi, my name is Jessica Calic aka ‘Mama Jess Writes’ – WELCOME to my site.
I am an introverted and anxious wife & mama of two and most recently a children’s author! Thanks for stumbling across my page.
My hope and goal for this site and my blog is to help normalize our fears and struggles. I want to build positive connections, while hopefully helping and supporting others at the same time. Life is not always as perfect as it can appear on social media, and that is okay.
Here you will find aspects of my motherhood journey, hopefully in a relatable way. I would love to build a community to come together and have real discussions on all aspects of parenthood, however that looks for you. Motherhood is the most rewarding but BY FAR the toughest thing I’ve ever done. You will also find information on my first children’s book, “Can I Have Pancakes for Breakfast?” (and future books) here!!!
THANK YOU so much for taking the time out of your busy life to visit my page to learn a little more about me, my family, and my book. I know how crazy and overwhelming life (and the internet/social media) can be, so I truly appreciate anyone and everyone who visits my page.

Can I Have Pancakes for Breakfast?
Time is something that we are all given in our lifetime – it’s a universal treasure, not to be taken for granted. This beautiful and timeless children’s story, told from an adult’s perspective of those fleeting moments we value while our children are still young, brings to light the feelings of love and nostalgia.
